00DAD - Great revision. Makes perfect sense. But know you've proven yourself contrary to the "slave"!
LOL Thanks for the comment.

though i no longer believe the fds is indeed appointed by god, i guess because of what has been taught to me all these years through the wtbts, i still make an effort to try and look at both sides.
and then i come across this number below, which is how i arrived at my title for this thread.

despite being an open atheist amongst lots of religious people in my life, i have never been accused of doing this and i have never heard this saying attributed to my choice... appart from here.. i thought it would be best to clarify why i (and i assume others) decided to leave the bible behind after leaving the wt society.. realising the wt society was wrong desroyed my world, for me it meant so much.
i had given so much to it too, it just had to be true!
N.drew, what does the Bible say about...
Just kidding!! LOL I won't feed the "whore", so that she can feed her family.

@ knowsnothing - Are you suggesting God did not have an organization back in the day?
But I thought the GB said...? Aw, forget it. LOL

The real bible??
As was already pointed out earlier in this thread by another poster, unless you read the Bible, there is no other source to know about God/Christ.
So how can most believers, per your comment, look at the "unreal" Bible available to all, since they don't have your copy/version, and say they know Christ?

N. Drew - I want to apologize if you read my comment at first one way and then it looks different. I'm posting from a smart phone and it's a pain in the butt to reread my comment unless I post it first. Then I edit it. Maybe I need an iPad? LOL

N.drew - My buffet comment refers to what people are doing in their belief of the Bible. How do believers have a relationship with Christ but disagree on parts of the Bible?

Also N.drew, you said the Bible, or the word, or whatever you'd like to call it (I don't mean that disrespectfully), can't be perfect.
Right. So let me get this straight. I'm not supposed to follow imperfect men because they eff up people's lives and don't know the truth. Check.
But I'm supposed to learn about and follow Christ in a truthful way from an imperfect source and accept it as truth about him because it sounds right to me? Seems rather strange.
